Course Overview

This course is designed to provide practical knowledge of quantity surveying, estimation, and billing for small to medium infrastructure works like box culverts, retaining walls, drainage systems, and minor bridges. You will learn how to calculate quantities from drawings and prepare BOQ and bills used in real projects (PWD/Govt works)

  • Box Culvert Quantity: Types of culverts (Single cell, Multi-cell); Excavation & PCC work; RCC (slab, wall, base slab); Reinforcement quantity; Formwork calculation

  • Retaining Wall Quantity: Types (Gravity, Cantilever); Earthwork & foundation; RCC & masonry work; Backfilling calculation; Weep holes & drainage

  • Drain Line Work: Types (Open drain, Covered drain); Excavation & bedding; Brickwork/RCC drain; Plastering & finishing; Pipe drain calculation

  • Minor Bridge Quantity: Substructure (footing, abutment, pier); Superstructure (slab, girder); Bearing & deck slab; Wing wall & approach road

  • Reinforcement (Steel) Calculation: BBS preparation; Cutting length calculation; Weight calculation

  • BOQ & Rate Analysis: Item-wise quantity; Standard format (PWD/Govt); Abstract sheet; Material + Labour + Machinery; RCC, Earthwork & masonry rate calculation

  • Billing Work: Measurement Book (MB); RA Bill preparation; Final Bill & checking

  • Practical Training: Real project drawings; Excel quantity sheet
